Sometimes you just need another experienced horse person to talk things through with. Horse decisions can get complicated fast. Maybe you’re looking at a horse you’re thinking about buying and something doesn’t quite add up. Maybe you’re trying to decide whether to breed your mare, you’re dealing with a health or management issue, or you’ve gotten three completely different opinions and you’re not sure which direction to go.
Sometimes you just want to talk to someone who understands horses and can look at the whole situation with you. I’ve been a horsewoman for over 30 years. I’ve trained professionally, bought and sold horses, bred horses, rescued and rehabbed horses, and dealt with plenty of situations that didn’t have an obvious answer. I’ve also made my share of mistakes and learned some pretty expensive lessons along the way.
I’m naturally the person who wants to dig into a situation, ask questions, look at the different possibilities and figure out what we might be missing. That’s what these consultations are for.
What Can We Talk About?
People come to me with all kinds of horse questions, but some of the things we can talk through include horse buying and selling, choosing a trainer or boarding facility, health and management questions, nutrition, breeding decisions, rescue and rehabilitation, and those weird situations where you simply aren’t sure what to do next.
I can also help with equine business questions, social media, YouTube and content strategy. I’ve been building Horseaholic for years, so if your question is about the business side of the horse world, we can absolutely talk about that too.
My role isn’t to tell you what you have to do. It’s to help you look at the situation, ask better questions, consider things you may not have thought about and weigh your options so you can make the decision that feels right for you and your horse.

This is a good choice when you have one main situation or decision you’d like to talk through.
Maybe you’re considering buying a horse and want another opinion. Maybe you’re trying to make a breeding decision, sort through a management issue or figure out what questions you should be asking before you move forward.
Thirty minutes gives us enough time to focus on the situation and talk through your options without turning it into something more complicated than it needs to be.

60-Minute Equine Consultation | $225
Choose the hour if your situation is more complicated, you have several things you want to discuss, or you simply don’t want to feel rushed.
The extra time also makes sense if you’d like me to look through information you’ve gathered, such as reports, photos or videos, and then talk through everything together.
If you’re not sure which one you need, I’d choose based on how much there is to unpack. One fairly straightforward question or decision will usually fit the 30-minute consultation. If you already know you’re going to say, “Okay, but there’s more to the story,” you’ll probably appreciate having the hour.

A Little About How I Approach Things
I have a huge passion for holistic equine wellness and nutrition, and I tend to look at the whole horse rather than one isolated piece of a problem. I’m certified in ozone therapy, laser therapy and cryotherapy, and I’m especially interested in rehabilitation and the horses that aren’t quite adding up.
That doesn’t mean I’m going to tell you every horse needs an alternative therapy or supplement. I’m actually pretty skeptical about a lot of things. I want to know why something might help, whether it makes sense for this horse and what the other options are.
And if something you’re dealing with belongs in the hands of your veterinarian, farrier, trainer or another professional, I’ll tell you that too. A consultation with me isn’t veterinary care and isn’t intended to replace the professionals involved with your horse.
My goal is simply to give you an experienced second set of eyes and help you think through your situation.
I believe we’re called to be faithful stewards of God’s creation, including the horses He puts in our care. Sometimes part of doing that well is slowing down, asking more questions and making the most thoughtful decision we can with the information we have.
